ELLIOTT DOMINANT ONCE AGAIN

The Barons improved to six wins and one loss today by defeating the North Corner Tribe 3-1.   Starting pitcher Alec Elliott continued his dominance of opposing bats.   He collected his fourth win of the 2008 season by striking out six over five innings.   The lone run he surrendered was unearned.   Illness, graduations, and the All State Team Showcase once again limited the Barons lineup.   Today the lineup featured a total of nine players four of which were pitchers.   The outfield was patrolled by pitchers Timpke, Mahler, and Tannay (pictured). Nonetheless, they managed to manufacture a win behind the strong pitching of Elliott, and the defensive wizardry of Jake Schumacher and Michael Sumi.   Schumacher collect two hits and an RBI, A.J. Easterbrook also pitched in with his second homerun of the season.   Tony Rossetto drove in a crucial run in the seventh with a shot up the middle.   Barron Tannay earned the save with his two strong innings of work.   He did not allow a Tribe runner to reach base.   On a side note Alec Elliott picked up his first hit since the 2006 season.
