SCHUMACHER CONTINUES HIS HOT HITTING IN 4-1 WIN
The Barons won again tonight improving their league record to seven wins and one loss. Jake Schumacher continued his hot hitting by driving in runs with an RBI single and a solo homerun. Brown, and Rossetto also collect RBIs in the victory; Bushnell doubled and made a diving catch in center. Seth Timpke pitched four solid innings before leaving the game tied at one. Anthony McCarthy then pitched his first inning of the year. He picked up his first win of the year by throwing a scoreless inning against a young but talented Federal Way Buzz team. Alex Mahler then threw his most impressive inning of the year. He continues to rehab from surgery to his left shoulder. His velocity and command are returning. It is encouraging watching him battle back from his injury. Keep up the good work Alex. Colton Brown brought two hitters to their knees with nasty curve balls in the seventh to pick up the save. The Barons open the Fathers Day tournament Thursday against the South Hill Stingers at Emerald Ridge HS. First pitch will be thrown at 6:00 pm.
