OUCH
The Barons were unable to survive the eleven walks and three hit batters yielded by the pitching staff. Trailing by two in the seventh the Barons bats came to life and plated four runs to take the lead. In the bottom of the seventh the Tribes first hitter popped up to Jay Skilton at short. Unfortunately the wheels then came off. The next two hitters walked. The next Tribe hitter then worked the count full before dashing the Barons hopes to continue on to the next round with a walk off homerun to left field. Offensive standouts for the Barons were Logan Bushnell who smoked two long doubles and A.J. Easterbrook who collected two hits including his first homerun in a Baron uniform. The Barons play next on Wednesday evening at Art Wright Field against the Bowen Scarff Bulldogs. First pitch is at 5:30.

BARONS LOSE 3-2
The Barons fell to the Federal Way Buzz today 3-2. The Buzz trotted out a 6'5" left handed power pitcher who dominated Baron hitters with an 88 MPH fastball and a plus curve. He surrendered only 4 hits and two runs. Barons collecting hits were Sumi, Knapp, Schumacher, and Lee. Knapp and Schumacher drove in the only two Baron runs. Baron pitchers struggled with their control as evidenced by twelve walks. Baron defense kept them in the game by turning four more double plays. They have now turned in ten twin killings in the past three games. By virtue of the run differential tie breaker the Barons captured the two seed in their pool and will play in the semi-finals tomorrow against the one seed of the C pool. First pitch will be at 1:00 pm at Kent Memorial Park. Barron Tanay will take the mound for the Barons.

Auburn's Colton Brown pitched six strong innings by striking out nine while allowing two hits. Puyallup's Alex Mahler closed the door in the seventh. Due to injury this was Alexs first outing since last summer. It was good to see him throw again. Baron pitchers have struck out twenty-one hitters and surrendered six hits in their fourteen innings of work so far this season. Jay Skilton of Stadium HS was the offensive star of the day. Jay was three for three at the dish and got the Barons off on the right foot by hitting a lead off homer. The Barons face the Federal Way Buzz tomorrow at Russell Road. The first pitch will be thrown at 4:00 pm. Seth Timpke of Stadium will take the mound for the Barons.
