Today marks a special day at Fiore Winery.  We bottled our new sweet red named High Heel Slipper.  It is like our best selling Scarlette with it's own seductive personality.  So visit the tasting room at Fiore next week or join us at the Maryland Wine Festival this weekend and dare to be a slipper sipper too! 

This Friday morning we will be featured on ABC 2, Good Morning Maryland around 6am so set your VCR or DVR.......Justin Burke is doing a segment called "One Tank Trips"  They were here filming today, I can't wait to see how it comes out......They filmed Mike out in the vineyard....and Carrie in the Barrel room and Rose and I in the tasting room.....we will have to wait and see which of us gets edited out.

Today Steve Rouse and a film crew were out at the vineyard.......interiviewing Mike Fiore for a segment on Steve's new show "Maryland Living".......the segment will air this Sunday July 29th at 9 in the morning on ABC 2.....Mike took Steve on a walk through the vineyard and they also sampled some wine in the cellar......I tried to listen in on most of the interview it should be a lot of fun and educational......so set your DVR or VCR so you don't sleep in and miss it

Well today was a great day at the vineyard......the fathers day celebration was  a lot of fun.......Great food from Ferrante's Resturant.....and everyone enjoyed the Italian tunes form the Mario Manoldi Italian Band ......We had a great turnout and were all to busy to take any pics......I saw a few people with cameras please send us some pics if you can.......We have the Great Grapes Festival at Oregon Ridge this weekend .....and up next at the vineyard on July 6th for our Red Wine and Blue celebration we have on of my favorite bands "Once Removed" they play some great classic rock with lots of harmonies......hope to see you then

Last weekend was the Chesapeake Wine Festival.....its was a great location just across the Bay Bridge at Terpian park...this was the first year for this festival and besides the weather I think it was a success....Saturday started a little humid......then the rain came.....and kept coming......and coming......and just as it was time to go home at 6pm the sun came out.......Sunday was much nicer and the grounds dried out pretty well....it did not start raining till about 5:30.....thanks to all of our Volunteers who help make this another successful festival here are some photos of the weekend click .......next weekend is the Great Grapes at Oregon Ridge park......after rain at Wine in the Woods and the Chesapeake, Festivals  I think we are due for some great weather

Well the Wine in the Woods festival in Columbia was this past weekend. This is the first festival of the wine festival season........Saturday the weather was just beautiful with over 17 thousand people coming through the gate......it seemed the lines for tastings and sales never stopped all day......On Sunday the weather was a little on the wet side but the turnout was still pretty good considering
The wines that really seemed to get the most attention from under our tent were the new arrivals of Pinot Grigio and Sangiovese...........While the Blueberry and Blush also seemed to crowd favorites this year.
Next up is the Chesapeake Bay wine festival in Queen Anne's county May 31 & June 1, 2008 .
Thanks again to all the volunteers for your help...we could not do these events without you.

We working to help increase our supply to keep up with the demand and we have began planting  Chambourcin vines in our vineyard. In total we will be planting about 1000 vines. These vines will be producing fruit that we will use to make wine in about 5 years. In the picture you can see Mike Fiore planting the first of these new vines. I will try to take pictures through out the growth of these vines so you can watch the progress of these new babies

We are getting some snow today. So I recorded some as it came down....the snow messed with the white balanced a little, but I think you can make things out okay. If we get enough we will all go out and I will record the snowball fight. ; )
