What is it?

Journal supports dozens of file types for audio, video and pictures. Certain video and audio types require installation of a corresponding player on your machine. Refer to the charts below to which type of media player you need to download.

Media Player Supported Formats
  Windows Media Player    .aif, .aifc, .aiff, .asf, .avi, .ivf, .m1v, .mp3, .mpa, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wav, .wma, .wmv*  
  QuickTime    .3g2, .3gp, .m4a, .m4v, .mov*,  
  Real Media Player    .divx, .m2v, .mp4, .ra, .rmx,  
  Flash Media Player    .flv
  Picture / Images    .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, .bmp, .tif, .tiff

* Note: Some files that contain an AVI, MOV or WMV "wrapper" may not be supported.

Tips and How To's

To discover which version of any of the media players listed above, do the following:

  • Open the application.
  • Pulldown the Help Menu.
  • Click About.
  • The About Dialogue will give you the Version Number of the player you are using.
